The university you decide to study at will be your home for the next few years and perhaps even longer. Its location will have a bearing on every aspect of your university experience and what happens afterwards, shaping your studies, social life, hobbies, your health and wellbeing, financial security, and career prospects. It’s an important decision that deserves some careful consideration.

In this session, we bring together the following great universities, representing different types of location, to guide you and help inform your decision making.

Goldsmiths, University of London: New Cross – our South East London home – has a thriving music and arts scene, fantastic restaurants, buzzing cafes, and a genuinely diverse and eclectic population.

City, University of London: Based in the heart of London – our students have access to the capitals’ cosmopolitan culture, a dynamic social scene, and strong links to businesses and professional networks.

Aberystwyth University: A campus-based University set in the coastal town of Aberystwyth right in heart of the Welsh countryside.

University of East Anglia: A campus-based university, just two miles from the centre of Norwich – a vibrant, medium-sized city in the East of England.

Each university will be represented by a member of their recruitment team and student ambassadors. They will share their experiences and address your pre-submitted and live questions in a collaborative and supportive online event which is open to all students considering university, their parents/carers and school/college advisers.

Please do join us, post your questions and hear from others to help make the decision that is right for you.

Our events are designed so that a group of students can take part from a classroom or students and teachers can take part as individuals, either from school or from home. This means that sessions will continue irrespective of possible school closures.

Please note, this session will be recorded but the recording will not be available online. It will be available on request for schools and colleges to show during their HE days this summer and will be deleted at the end of July.

Suitable for: All students considering university, their parents/carers and school/college advisers. Please join as a group or register to take part individually. Everyone is welcome.

Preparation/Pre-Reading: Please consider your questions in advance relating to university location and submit them here as soon as you are ready. This will give us a good indication of the topics you want to discuss and will be used to shape the session.

The IT Setup: The event will be run on Zoom and participants will be able to join using laptops, tablets, and mobile devices. If you are joining as a school group, we recommend connecting with one device and projecting on to a whiteboard. You will be able to interact with the university via typed comments and questions or via a microphone, if preferred. Full details will be sent to those who have registered (see below) prior to the event.

Booking a Place: This is free for schools and colleges. If you would like to take part in this event, please register your interest using the link to the registration form below:
