In this interactive session, Dr Adriana Sinclair, Lecturer in the School of Politics, Philosophy, Language and Communication Studies at University of East Anglia, will explore dominant themes in international relations by presenting The Coming Storm: The Battle for New World Order.

President Biden believes that the world is at an inflection point, a critical moment in global history where the choices powerful states like the US make will determine the future of global politics for the next 50 years.

What kind of world will emerge: a unipolar world of American dominance? A bipolar world of a new Cold War between China and America? Or a multipolar world of even greater competition between multiple great powers and even greater instability? Dr Adriana Sinclair will explore how the kind of world order we will live under for the next 50 years is being shaped through military conflicts like Ukraine and the Middle East but also a war over values and ideology, democracy and authoritarianism, religion and ethics.

The postwar world order is over; what will replace it?

The session will develop thinking, skills and approaches to support students in their Politics, Geography and International Relations studies and future aspirations.
