Thank you for visiting this page.

We have launched a national survey that aims to understand the choices that students, planning to start university in Autumn 2017, have made. We are keen to explore the key influences and how these vary locally, regionally, and nationally, as well as relating these to choices of university and course.

Already, fascinating and insightful responses are coming in from students and we’d like to hear from as many more students as possible to identify key patterns and ideas.

The data will be used to inform what Channel Talent is doing. It may be that it will be useful data to discuss with our university partners in terms of their work with us as well as their broader work. At no point will school level data be shared apart from with the school itself. There may also be a published article that comes out of the survey but, again, no school level details will be shared and any quotes will naturally be anonymous.

Please could we request that this survey (see link below) is made available to Year 13/leavers heading to university? In return, where we have responses from your students, we will compile a summary report for you indicating patterns within the school and any interesting comparisons with regional and national data.

As this develops year on year, we will look to include other destinations including apprenticeships.

Thank you for the email. The purpose of this year’s survey is understand common themes and also differences across regions and types of school (state, independent, girls, boys, etc.) to inform what Channel Talent is doing. It may be that it will be useful data to discuss with our university partners in terms of their work with us as well as their broader work. At no point will school level data be shared apart from with the school itself. The responses so far are really interesting and there may be an article that comes out of the survey but, again, no school level details will be shared and any quotes will naturally be anonymous. I hope that works for you as it would be great to hear from your students. Also, they are very valid questions and I will add some of the above to the weblink.

Please also pass this on to other contacts for whom you think this will be relevant. Thank you!
