6th December 2012 @ 11:30 - 12:30

This session is designed to give all participants the opportunity to hear from current undergraduate students studying at The University of Sheffield on several aspects of university life and Higher Education in general. Using a panel of staff and students the discussion will cover topics such as; finance, why university/HE?, entry requirements, the benefits of HE, student life, inspirations and aspirations, course choice, course structure, learning styles, hints and tips, guidance on how to prepare, what you should be doing now as a prospective undergraduate etc.

There will also be an opportunity for students to ask questions and lead discussions on topics that they would like to cover. This session is aimed at providing an insight into life at university from current undergraduates who will be able to give an open and honest appraisal of what life is like today as a student.

Suitable for: Year 12 & Year 13.The session is suitable for students who feel that university might be something that they are interested in researching further. Equally it would also be a chance for those students who are definitely interested in HE to find out more.

Preparation/Pre-reading: There is no specific preparation or pre-reading required. However, it would be useful if students were to consider some topics that they would like to discuss, and to possibly prepare any questions beforehand that they would like to be answered.
