The Barclays Higher Apprenticeship Programme with Tracy Longhurst & Colleagues from Barclays

26th March 2015 @ 11:55 - 12:55

Barclays: The Barclays Higher Apprenticeship Programme with Tracy Longhurst & Colleagues from Barclays on 26th March 2015: 4 Sessions

On 26th March, Barclays will team up with Virtually University to talk to Year 13 students about the Barclays Higher Apprenticeship Programme, via interactive videoconference/webinar.

This is an excellent opportunity for those interested in an ‘Earn & Learn’ apprenticeship leading to a degree. Students may have decided not to apply to university for financial or other reasons or may like to weigh up this option against offers they have from universities already.

This is what Barclays say about their Higher Apprenticeship:

What’s involved?

This three year programme is a sponsored degree which will give you the potential to achieve a BA(Hons) in Leadership & Management through Anglia Ruskin University. In addition you will enjoy structured work placements in a range of roles that will broaden your experience and skills and fast track you into Leadership at Barclays.

What’s in it for me?

You’ll learn, you’ll earn, and you’ll gain a university education without incurring debt. What’s more, tutors, mentors and managers will support you to fulfil your true potential.

What Barclays are looking for

Potential is what we’re looking for, so you don’t need to be the finished article but you must be passionate with the ability to inspire and lead. The readiness to challenge is also important, as is a bold approach and the ability to work with others to achieve great results for colleagues and customers alike. You must also have a minimum of 200 UCAS points, predicted or gained within the last 12 months. This can be any subject in A-Level or equivalent qualifications.

The Sessions:

There will be 4 identical sessions running on 26th March. They will be interactive and will enable your students to ask questions and discuss the opportunity with programme leaders and current apprentices.

Session 1: 10.25-11.25

Session 2: 11.55-12.55

Session 3: 13.45-14.45

Session 4: 15.15-16.15

Please let VU know if you have a group that would like to take part. If you haven’t taken part in a VU session before we will work with your ICT department to make sure everything is set up either using VC or pc technology. These sessions are free.

Suitable for: Year 13 (See above)

Preparation/Pre-reading: None required.
