In this Sport Psychology session, Dr Nicholas de Cruz, Lecturer in Sport and Exercise Psychology in the School of Biosciences at the University of Surrey, will host an interactive talk for students on Being a Sport Psychologist: From Athlete to Academic.

Prior to his role at the University of Surrey, Nicholas developed, taught, and led modules on Performance Psychology, Research Methods, and Qualitative Research at the Singapore University of Social Sciences. On weekends, he coached youth athletes for the Singapore Sailing Federation. Notable experiences include being the assistant coach for Singapore’s Paralympic Sailing Team during London 2012 and coaching an Australian sailor for the Youth Olympic Games 2010.

Join Nicholas for an engaging and insightful webinar as he shares his journey of transitioning from an international athlete and sailing world champion to an academic in the field of sport psychology. During this session, you will learn about the evolving field of sport psychology, the challenges and pivotal moments faced, and the various avenues available to become a sport psychologist.

Whether you are an aspiring sport psychologist, a current athlete, or simply interested in the intersection of sports and psychology, this webinar offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable insights into a path that is arguably less travelled.
