Sociology/Psychology: Social Constructionism & Constructing Disability – Looking At Disability Through A Social Model Lens With Dr Megan Robb From University of Bath
October 14 @ 10:10 - 10:55
In this interactive session, we explore how the theory of social constructionism helps us to understand the concept of disability and society’s role in creating or alleviating barriers for people with impairments.
We will think about the implications of this theory for providing support in the health and social care professions and in formulating social policy for disabled people.
This session will be of interest to students studying social theories and those with an interest in broader social justice issues. It will also interest anyone considering a career in health and social care or public services.
The session will be led by Megan Robb who is a lecturer in Social Work at the University of Bath.
