In this interactive webinar Dr Dana Damian, from the Department of Automatic Control and Systems Engineering at The University of Sheffield will discuss the use of robotics in medicine, and the corresponding challenges that are yet to be taken by future engineers. Tune in to find out about the benefits and impact robotics can have on our society.

Suitable for: Specifically Year 12 and Year 13 students studying Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, Maths and/or students who may be interested in studying these at university.

Preparation/Pre-Reading: There is no pre-reading or preparation required although students may benefit from considering the issues related to using robots in medicine and questions they may like to ask Dana.

The IT Setup: The setup is similar to Skype, using a pc and webcam, although students take part as a group with the image projected on a whiteboard rather than as individuals in front of lots of pcs. We will work with your IT department to ensure everything is set up and working prior to the event. The sessions are generally limited to 3 to 5 schools to maintain the interactive nature of the experience.
