right4me Computer Science: Studying Computer Science For A Degree With Goldsmiths & University Of East Anglia

7th October 2020 @ 14:00 - 15:00

right4me is a series of subject specific webinars for current Year 12 and 13 students who have an idea about what degree course they are interested in but would like to talk to different universities in order to make informed comparisons.

In this right4me Computer Science webinar for schools and colleges, University of East Anglia and Goldsmiths, University of London, will each talk to your students for 30 minutes to convey the requirements, format and strengths of their Computer Science degree courses, highlighting areas that differentiate their courses from others and drawing upon student experience and progression.

This will be a dynamic, fast paced event with the universities cycling between 2 different virtual rooms. The universities will decide how to manage the time but will look to engage students in discussion.

Our events are designed so that a group of students can take part from a classroom or students and teachers can take part as individuals, either from school or from home. This means that sessions will continue irrespective of possible school closures.

Suitable for: Year 12 and 13 students studying, or thinking about studying, Computer Science.

Preparation/Pre-Reading: None is required although students may wish to consider and discuss some of the key questions they have about studying Computer Science at university level.

The IT Setup: The event will be run on Bluejeans and participants will be able to join using laptops, tablets, and mobile devices. If you are joining as a school group, we recommend connecting with one device and projecting on to a whiteboard. You will be able to interact with the university via a microphone and/or typed comments and questions. Full details will be sent to those who have registered (see below) prior to the event.

Booking a Place: This is free for schools and colleges. If you would like to take part in this event, please register your interest using the link to the registration form below:
