SUMMARY:right4me Biosciences – Insights Into University Modules & The Learning Experience With University of East Anglia & University of Nottingham
DESCRIPTION:Register here \n  \n \n  \n  \n  \n \n  \n\nUniversity of East Anglia: Often\, we group all aspects of biology into one big umbrella subject\, but at university\, there is the option to choose a course which focuses on just your favourite bits. In this session\, the Director of Admissions for UEA’s School of Biological Sciences\, Dr Becky Lewis\, will provide a brief overview of what the different courses within biology are\, to help you identify whether any of them might suit you. She will use the UEA courses as a case study\, but the information she shares will be applicable more broadly.\n\n  \n\nUniversity of Nottingham: The world of Life Sciences is evolving—and so are the courses at the University of Nottingham. With insights from current and former students\, leading employers\, and academic experts\, we’ve redesigned our degrees to meet the demands of today’s global job market and align with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. Join Dr Marie Kokolski\, Course Director\, where she’ll introduce you to this exciting transformation through the lens of our brand-new Biomedical Sciences course\, launching in 2026. Discover how we’re creating a hands-on\, future-focused degree shaped by real-world needs—and how you could be part of it.\n\n  \n  \nright4me is a series of subject specific webinars for Post 16 pre-university students. The sessions support students’ current studies and interests by giving an insight into curriculum areas covered in university modules. In addition\, by hearing from 2 universities for 30 minutes each\, students will appreciate how the further study of Biosciences can vary between institutions\, contributing to the depth of their HE research and assisting informed decision making. \nIn this session we will be joined by two universities\, including University of East Anglia and University of Nottingham\, who will begin by exploring the fascinating academic content of their Biosciences degrees. \nEach university will then offer an insight into the teaching and learning experience related to their modules and to their Biosciences degrees more generally. \n  \n  \n\n  \nOur events are designed so that a group of students can take part from a classroom or students and teachers can take part as individuals\, either from school or from home. There is no charge to take part. \nAs a live\, participative event\, this session will not be recorded but slides and other resources will be shared after the event\, where available. \n  \nSuitable for: Aged 16+ pre-university students studying\, or with a possible interest in studying\, Biosciences and related disciplines. Student groups\, and individual students and teachers are very welcome to join us. \nPreparation/Pre-Reading: Students may wish to consider the content of the talks and questions they may have. Students can also think about questions they have about studying at university level. \nThe IT Setup: The event will be run on Zoom and participants will be able to join using laptops\, tablets\, and mobile devices. If you are joining as a school group\, we recommend connecting with one device and projecting on to a whiteboard. You will be able to interact with the university via typed comments and questions and/or a microphone. Full details will be sent to those who have registered (see below) prior to the event. \nBooking a Place: This is free for schools and colleges. If you would like to take part in this event\, please register your interest using the link to the registration form below: \n  \nRegister here \n  \n
