DESCRIPTION:Register here \n  \n  \n \n  \n  \nIn this Politics session\, Dr Emma Long\, Associate Professor in American History and Politics\, and Dr Eitan Tzelgov\, Associate Professor in Politics\, both from the School of Politics\, Philosophy and Area Studies at University of East Anglia\, will run an interactive talk for students on UK vs US Voting Behaviour. \nJoin us for an engaging exploration of how different groups vote in the US and UK! Discover what drives different groups of voters to the polls\, analyse the key issues that shape their choices\, and consider the similarities and differences between voting in both countries. \nActivities include: \n\nDebates on voting trends\nDiscussing the results of recent elections\n\nBy the end\, you’ll understand the dynamics of voting behaviour and the power of your voice in democracy! Let’s ignite a conversation about civic engagement! \n  \nLecturer Profiles: Dr Emma Long & Dr Eitan Tzelgov \n\n  \nOur events are designed so that a group of students can take part from a classroom or students and teachers can take part as individuals\, either from school or from home. There is no charge to take part. \nAs a live\, participative event\, this session will not be recorded but slides and other resources will be shared after the event\, where available. \n  \nSuitable for: Key Stage 5 students (and equivalent) studying\, or with a possible interest in studying\, Politics and related disciplines. Student groups as well as students and teachers joining individually are very welcome. \nPreparation/Pre-Reading: Students may wish to consider the topic in advance and questions they have. Students can also think about questions about studying at university level. \nThe IT Setup: The event will be run on Zoom and participants will be able to join using laptops\, tablets\, and mobile devices. If you are joining as a school group\, we recommend connecting with one device and projecting on to a whiteboard. You will be able to interact with the speaker via typed comments and questions and/or via a microphone.
