Politics: Do British Voters Follow The (Party) Leader? Understanding Who Votes & Why With Dr Alia Middleton From University Of Surrey

5th February 2021 @ 12:45 - 13:30

In this Politics participative webinar, Dr Alia Middleton, Lecturer in Politics, Co-Director of The Centre for Britain and Europe (CBE) and Undergraduate Admissions Tutor from University of Surrey, will present Do British voters follow the (party) leader? Understanding who votes and why.

Have you ever wondered why some people vote and others don’t? Or if the way people decide who to vote for has changed in recent elections?

This session will look at recent British elections to understand what is going on in the minds of British voters today, including thinking about the role of party leaders and whether social media changes anything.

Our events are designed so that a group of students can take part from a classroom or students and teachers can take part as individuals, either from school or from home. This means that sessions will continue irrespective of possible school closures.

As a live, participative event, this session will not be recorded but slides and other resources will be shared after the event, where available.
