Photography/Fashion: The Persuasive Power Of Photography & Its Relationship To Fashion With Gary Wallis From Solent University
6th December 2023 @ 13:30 - 14:15
In this live interactive event for Art and Design students with an interest in Photography and/or Fashion, we will be joined by Gary Wallis, Fashion Photography lecturer at Solent University.
In addition to teaching the next generation of fashion photographers, Gary has worked as a freelance photographer for 25 years, shooting for titles such as Japanese Vogue, Dutch Elle, British Marie Claire, The Independent Magazine, Evening Standard, Dazed and Confused and Swedish Slitz Magazine.
On December 6, Gary will present The Persuasive Power Of Photography & Its Relationship To Fashion.
In this session we will examine how photography has been used to change social and cultural opinion on key issues over the last five decades, with particular reference to the area of fashion.
We will explore subjects such as diversity, environment, sustainability and other related political and social issues, drawing upon the work of influential fashion designers, photographers and creatives from different areas of the art and design and advertising worlds.
