Paramedic Science: Responding To A Medical Emergency – Navigating Clinical & Psychosocial Dilemmas With Ryan Goodman From University of East Anglia
May 20 @ 16:00 - 16:45
Join Ryan Goodman, UEA Paramedic Science lecturer, and take the role of a paramedic attending to a fictitious patient. In this interactive workshop, you will assess and respond to an emergency medical situation, navigating a variety of intricate clinical and psychosocial dilemmas.
The scenario will introduce the challenging and complex circumstances a paramedic regularly finds themselves in, demonstrating the clinical, observational, investigative and interpersonal skills that are central to offering immediate and effective care at the front line.
Ryan will then put the exercise into context by introducing the BSc Paramedic Science programme at UEA, explaining how the course prepares undergraduates for a high intensity, dynamic and rewarding career in Paramedic practice.
We invite you to shape the outcome of the scenario or simply observe, with an opportunity at the end to ask any questions you have about Paramedic Science and practice.
Please note that, although the session is scheduled to end at 16:45, Ryan will stay on until 17:00 to answer further questions.
