Join Ryan Goodman, UEA Paramedic Science lecturer, and take the role of a paramedic attending to a fictitious patient. In this interactive workshop which is part of our Paramedic Science mini series* with UEA, you will assess and respond to an emergency medical situation, navigating a variety of intricate clinical and psychosocial dilemmas.

The scenario will introduce the challenging and complex circumstances a paramedic regularly finds themselves in, demonstrating the clinical, observational, investigative and interpersonal skills that are central to offering immediate and effective care at the front line.

Ryan will then put the exercise into context by introducing the BSc Paramedic Science programme at UEA, explaining how the course prepares undergraduates for a high intensity, dynamic and rewarding career in Paramedic practice.

We invite you to shape the outcome of the scenario or simply observe, with an opportunity at the end to ask any questions you have about Paramedic Science and practice.

For those of you who joined Ryan in December, this is a brand new scenario and offers further insight into the highly skilled and diverse role of the paramedic.

* This event is part of UEA’s Paramedic Science mini series and leads into a Q&A with paramedics on 9th March in which you can ask the questions you have about study and careers in this exciting field. Please click below for further details.
