Medicine: Introduction to Nutrition by Dr Leanne Hodson, The University of Oxford Medical School

The lecture ‘Introduction to Nutrition’ will cover the relevance of nutrition in modern medicine, the distinctions between macro- and micro-nutrients and their role in human health, and provide an understanding of the physiological basis for the ‘healthy eating’ guidelines.


The videoconference allows sixth formers to ‘sit in’ on a live undergraduate Medicine lecture with the opportunity to ask questions at the end relating to the subject of the lecture or, more generally, about studying Medicine at Oxford.

Suitable for: Year 12/Year 13

Preparation/Pre-reading: It would be helpful for students to prepare questions in advance relating to studying this subject at university. These questions may cover, for example, the application process, course structure, and university lifestyle.
