Medicine: Communication Skills in Health Care Workshop with Dr Mandy Hampshire from University of Nottingham
June 25 @ 16:30 - 17:15
Good communication skills are vitally important for doctors to care effectively for their patients, and work well with other healthcare staff. Communication skills are an essential attribute that all medical schools will look for when selecting new medical students (Medical Schools Council). Communication and interpersonal skills are a key professional outcome required to graduate as a doctor in the UK (General Medical Council).
This interactive session will:
- outline what characterises good communication
- explore some challenges to effective communication in healthcare
- provide tips to improve your communication
- help you apply to study Medicine
The session is led by Mandy Hampshire, Director of Medicine Admissions at the University of Nottingham and a GP working in the NHS today.
