Linguistics: How Can Studying Linguistics Help Your Language Learning? With Dr Angela Gayton From University of Glasgow

16th March 2022 @ 14:00 - 15:00

In this interactive event with University of Glasgow, Dr Angela Gayton, Lecturer in Applied Linguistics and Education (English Language & Linguistics), will offer new perspectives on all sorts of questions about language and communication, such as:

  • How and why do languages change over time?
  • How do we create meaning through the sounds that we make?
  • How is the way we speak linked to who we are?

By exploring questions like these, you will gain an understanding of what we mean by linguistics, and how knowing about linguistics can help us to overcome some of the challenges we face when we learn other languages.
