In this Law/Criminology session, Professor Carole McCartney, an expert in Miscarriages of Justice, joins Edward Jones, Solicitor and Associate Professor. Both Carole and Edward represent the Leicester Law School at University of Leicester and will examine the question ‘How Hard Should It Be To Reverse A Miscarriage Of Justice?’

Attend this session to learn from an expert in miscarriages of justice and use your knowledge to decide whether a young person should succeed with his campaign for justice against the odds when he has not committed an offence.

You will learn about recent changes to compensation following a successful appeal against a wrongful conviction and evaluate whether justice really can be served under the current regime.

We recommend you explore related issues before this session by listening to the podcasts on BBC Sounds about joint enterprise and miscarriages of justice which are episodes in BBC Radio 4’s The Law Show.
