ARCH CREATES THE IT & DIGITAL WORKFORCE OF TOMORROW, TODAY. Arch combines young talent with great employers to create valuable and productive employees in entry level IT and Digital jobs, backed by the Government’s Apprenticeship Programme. Arch creates cost-effective IT & Digital Skills by tapping into a talent pool overlooked by our competitors: young people coming into the workforce for the first time. Over 350 young people and over 100 employers are already enjoying the benefits of Arch Apprenticeships. Employers include Google, Facebook, The Guardian and Barclays, as well as digital marketing agencies, publishers, e-tailers, IT firms, tech companies, charities and public bodies. We partner with leading industry organisations, such as HP and Microsoft, to deliver training of the highest quality. 93% of apprentices go into full time employment on completion of their Arch Apprenticeship. More details about Arch can be found here. Virtually University is running a series of videoconferences ideal for Year 12s with a potential interest in IT and Digital Media careers.

The session will be delivered by Golnar Narvani of Arch Apprentices, supported by other colleagues at Arch. They are really keen to to talk to sixth formers about the IT and Digital industries and the apprenticeships they offer on behalf of some very exciting companies.

The session is free to schools and colleges lasting up to an hour and will be interactive, enabling students to share their ideas and to ask questions. The session will cover:

o An interactive introduction to the world of work;

o The IT and digital marketing industries;

o Arch apprenticeships;

o Introduction to an Arch apprentice to share their experience

o Questions

Suitable for: Schools & Colleges in Greater London, High Wycombe, Greater Manchester and Birmingham area.

Arch will look at academic results but they are most interested in talking to students who demonstrate a passion for and, ability in, the creative and commercial aspects of digital media and also those that are more technically oriented. This is for Year 12 students and, if relevant, Year 13 students who have left but are considering their next step.

Preparation/Pre-reading: It will be helpful for students to consider questions in advance.
