11th November 2024 @ 10:00 - 10:45
In this Sports Science online event for schools and colleges, Joe Skeet, Student Performance Sport Manager, and Lois Millican, Performance and Recruitment Coordinator, from University of East Anglia will present Ethics & Deviance – An Introduction to Anti-Doping at University of East Anglia.
The session aims to discuss contemporary issues within the area of anti-doping, outlining the key principles of anti-doping and educating athletes on how they can access correct information to ensure they stay within the rules. The session will also interactively challenge participants on what action they would take in particular scenarios many modern athletes find themselves in.
Attendees will come away with some tools to avoid falling foul of anti-doping regulations as well as a better understanding of challenges athletes face to ensure they do not commit any anti-doping rule violations.
The session forms part of the performance sport workshop offer delivered to talented athletes as part of the Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS), UEA Sport Scholarship programme and Norfolk Sports Academy initiative all run out of the University of East Anglia Sportspark.
