24th March 2022 @ 13:30 - 14:10

This webinar with Dr Jonathan Cane from the History of Art department at Warwick focuses on the relationship between nature and art and architecture from 1800 to the present.

Examining a number of cases from the European tradition and from the Global South, the presentation includes famous examples like Gaudi’s Casa Batlló (1912), Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater (1939) and Zaha Hadid’s MAXXI National Museum of XXI Arts (2010) alongside lesser-known artworks and buildings.

The webinar culminates in the present, thinking about new conceptions of nature required by the climate catastrophe.
