History of Art, Modern Languages and Music: Introducing the High Achievers’ Summer School with Laura Bray from the University of Nottingham

January 23 @ 8:15 am - 8:45 am

The High Achievers’ Summer School is an exciting opportunity for high achieving Year 12 students to experience student life at the University of Nottingham. The summer school is free to attend and students who successfully complete the programme will be eligible to receive an unconditional offer to study a relevant course at the University of Nottingham, provided they make us their firm choice on UCAS.

This webinar will introduce the High Achievers’ Summer School to students and explain the application process. Students will also have the chance to ask any questions they might have about the High Achievers’ Summer School.

This webinar is aimed at groups of students who are currently in Year 12 and have achieved the minimum entry requirements of eight GCSEs at grade A or above (or equivalent, where grade A is equivalent to grade 7 for new GCSEs). The summer school will be offering subject strands in History of Art, Modern Languages and Music, so the webinar is suitable for any students with an interest in these subject areas. Entry requirements for each subject strand can be found on the University of Nottingham website.

For further information about the High Achievers’ Summer School, please visit the webpage: High Achievers’ Summer School or email: High Achievers’ Summer School.

Suitable for: Year 12 students with a potential interest in studying History of Art, Modern Languages or Music.

Preparation/Pre-Reading: There is no preparation or pre-reading required for this webinar although it is recommended that students look on the link above and think about questions they might have about this exciting opportunity.

The IT Setup: The setup is similar to Skype, using a pc and webcam, although students take part as a group with the image projected on a whiteboard rather than as individuals in front of lots of pcs. Dedicated videoconferencing equipment is also compatible if available to the school. We will work with your IT department to ensure everything is set up and working prior to the event. The sessions are generally limited to 3 to 5 schools to maintain the interactive nature of the experience.

Booking a Place: If you have a group of students that you would like to take part in this event, please contact us via email or via the contact form at the top right of this webpage (or at the bottom if you are on a mobile device). Subject to availability we will book a place for you.

Please note that this webinar is also running at 3:30-4:00 on Monday 22 January. Hopefully one of the available times will work for you and your students.
