DESCRIPTION:  \n \n  \nIn this interactive webinar\, Dr Danica Summerlin from The Department of History at The University of Sheffield offers a Masterclass to sixth form students which examines ways in which students can evaluate sources and detect bias within them. \n  \nLecturer Profile (Please click): Dr Danica Summerlin \nSuitable for: Year 12 & 13 with interests in research skills\, possibly studying History or an Extended Project Qualification\, for example. \nPreparation or Pre-Reading: Students will be asked to consider an excerpt from a source in terms of reliability/credibility prior to the session. We also recommend that students consider in advance some questions relevant to their interest Research and the validity and criticism of sources. \nThe IT Setup: The setup is similar to Skype\, using a pc and webcam\, although students take part as a group with the image projected on a whiteboard rather than as individuals in front of lots of pcs. Dedicated videoconferencing equipment is also compatible if available to the school.
