HE Guidance: Webinar 1 – Your Wellbeing at University … Preparing to Go With Samantha Glennie, Nicky Cashman & Laura Hill From Aberystwyth University
June 21 @ 17:00 - 18:00
We are delighted to present Your Wellbeing at University, a series from Aberystwyth University which introduces the key topics around your successful wellbeing at University. Wellbeing Practitioners, Accessibility Advisers and current students will discuss 4 key topics focusing on your preparation, lifestyle, friendships and general wellbeing.
In this webinar, Preparing to Go, we will set out helpful ideas on how to prepare for University life. The aim of the webinar is to help you cover all areas in your preparations for UNI life; to highlight some of the difficulties students can face as they transition into UNI life; what can really help to minimise difficulties and where to get advice and support if difficulties of any kind do arise:
· Why prepare?
· What are the challenges?
· What can help?
Strengthening your skills in being prepared can support your wellbeing (your social, biological and psychological self). Enabling you to feel in more control, happier and healthier on your arrival and over the weeks months as you settle in and adapt to UNI life.
Staff and students from Aberystwyth University will present the webinar and will be there to answer any questions you may have about getting ready for UNI life and what UNI life can bring.
Samantha Glennie is a Student Wellbeing Service Manager (Mental Health Specialism) and Nicky Cashman is an Accessibility Adviser in Aberystwyth’s Accessibility Service.
