HE Guidance: Tips For Personal Statements With Goldsmiths, University of London
18th June 2020 @ 13:00 - 13:45
In this interactive webinar Goldsmiths, University of London, will help students to plan and prepare to write a good university Personal Statement as part of a UCAS application by offering a university perspective.
The session will consider the importance of the Personal Statement and cover approaches to help students to write one personal statement for more than one university application.
The university will discuss with your students what makes a good personal statement. In particular, the focus will be on what university admissions tutors are looking for, covering the university context of Personal Statements, what to include, what to avoid, and how to get going, as well as looking at some examples of personal statements.
Suitable for: Year 12 students planning to apply to university.
Preparation or Pre-Reading: We recommend that students prepare in advance some questions relevant to their potential HE application and, if they are at this stage, to think about any issues they might be facing with writing their Personal Statement.
The IT Setup: The event will be run on Bluejeans and participants will be able to join using laptops, tablets, and mobile devices. You will be able to interact with the university via microphones and/or typed comments and questions. Full details will be sent to those who have registered (see below) prior to the event.
