DESCRIPTION:  \n \n  \n\n\nIn Aberystwyth’s Student Insight series\, we are offering 4 interactive 45 minute weekly events focusing on aspects of student life at university. As going to university involves so much more than academic study alone\, these webinars will cover a range of topics\, giving advice on how they might affect your student experience\, and what you might want to take into consideration when researching what universities will best suit you. As a student or parent/guardian\, you will hear from current undergraduate students and will receive some handy advice and top tips. \nIn this session on Societies we will be covering: \n\n\nVarying societies (non-sporting) available from the unusual to the popular.\nThe differences between societies; be it academic\, skill based\, or the ‘just for fun’ societies\, as well as discussing the option to set up your own.\nStudents’ own experiences in their societies and the benefits of being involved in them.\n\n\nIn a relaxed and friendly forum\, it is the perfect opportunity to ask any questions you have about Societies at university. \n\n\nFor further details about this great series and to see other Student Insight events\, please click the link below: \n  \nThe Student Insight Series with Aberystwyth University \n\n\n\n  \n  \nSuitable for: Students and parents/guardians considering different university options. \n\n\nPreparation or Pre-Reading: There is no formal preparation or pre-reading but participants may like to consider in advance some questions relevant to societies at university. \nThe IT Setup: The event will be run on Bluejeans and participants will be able to join using laptops\, tablets\, and mobile devices. You will be able to interact with the university via a microphone and/or typed comments and questions.
