HE Guidance: Preparing for Medicine & Healthcare University Interviews With Lauren McWilliams and Jess Smith, Higher Education Advisers From University of East Anglia

Applying for medicine or a health related course at university might seem daunting.

If you’re feeling nervous about an upcoming interview, fear not – in this session, Higher Education Advisers from the University of East Anglia (UEA) will talk you through some tips and tricks to ensure you are fully prepared when the time comes.

We’ll also be joined by some current UEA students who will share their experience of going through the process.

We’ll cover:

  • The purpose of the interview
  • What the interview involves
  • What you might be asked at interview
  • How to prepare for an interview

The presentation will be interactive and will last approximately 30 minutes. We then welcome everyone to stay on to ask their questions in a friendly and informative environment.

 

 

Our events are designed so that a group of students can take part from a classroom or students and teachers can take part as individuals, either from school or from home. This means that sessions will continue irrespective of possible school closures.

As a live, participative event, this session will not be recorded but slides and other resources will be shared after the event, where available.

 

Suitable for: All students currently applying, or considering applying, to Medicine and/or Healthcare courses at university.

Preparation/Pre-Reading: Students may wish to consider questions they have about applying to Medicine and/or Healthcare courses at university and, in particular, about the interview process.

The IT Setup: The event will be run on Bluejeans and participants will be able to join using laptops, tablets, and mobile devices. If you are joining as a school group, we recommend connecting with one device and projecting on to a whiteboard. You will be able to interact with the university via a microphone and/or typed comments and questions. Full details will be sent to those who have registered (see below) prior to the event.
