HE Guidance: Personal Statements with Amadea Afful from Goldsmiths, University of London

9th November 2016 @ 15:25 - 16:25

Do you have Year 13 students in the throes of completing their Personal Statements who would benefit from a university perspective, complementing the work you are doing with them?

We have 2 places available next Wednesday for a Personal Statements participatory webinar led by Amadea Afful from Goldsmiths, University of London.

In this session, Amadea will cover the university context of Personal Statements, what to include, what to avoid, and how to get going, as well as looking at some examples of personal statements. Join us for an insight into what universities look for from a personal statement!

The sessions are sponsored by Goldsmiths and therefore free to schools/colleges.

Suitable for: Year 13 students applying to university.

Preparation/Pre-Reading: None is required although students may wish to consider questions relating to any issues they are currently facing.

The IT Setup: The setup is similar to Skype, using a pc and webcam, although students take part as a group with the image projected on a whiteboard rather than as individuals in front of lots of pcs. Dedicated videoconferencing equipment is also compatible if available to the school. We will work with your IT department to ensure everything is set up and working prior to the event. The sessions are generally limited to 3 or 4 schools to maintain the interactive nature of the experience.

Booking a Place: If you have a group that you would like to take part in this event, please contact us via email or using the contact form on the top right of this page. We will book your place subject to availability.
