DESCRIPTION:Register here \n  \n  \n \n  \n  \nIn this interactive webinar\, UEA’s Higher Education Advisers will provide helpful advice and a practical guide that’ll help you to write a standout personal statement. \nIn the first 30 minutes of the session we’ll cover: \n\nWhat universities are looking for\nReal-life personal statement examples for you to discuss and critique\nHow to articulate points using evidence\, along with some exercises that can be used to help put the statement together\nTypes of pre-university experience you can include in your statement\nPractical tips to get started\n\nThe final 15 minutes is an opportunity for you to stay online and ask us any questions you might have about writing your statement or applying to university. \nEveryone that attends will be sent a digital workbook\, which you can complete in your own time after the webinar. The workbook will help you to gather your content\, structure your thoughts and get going with that difficult first draft. \nParents and carers are also welcome to attend the session\, to better understand how to support their young person. \n  \n\nOur events are designed so that a group of students can take part from a classroom\, or students and teachers can take part as individuals\, either from school or from home. There is no cost to take part. \nAs a live\, participative event\, this session will not be recorded but slides and other resources will be shared after the event\, where available. \n  \nSuitable for: All students currently applying\, or considering applying\, to university this academic year. Parents and carers are also welcome to attend the session\, to better understand how to support their young person. \nPreparation/Pre-Reading: Students may wish to consider questions they have about applying to university and completing their Personal Statement. \nThe IT Setup: The event will be run on Zoom and participants will be able to join using laptops\, tablets\, and mobile devices. If you are joining as a school group\, we recommend connecting with one device and projecting on to a whiteboard. You will be able to interact with the university via typed comments and questions.
