HE Guidance: Developing Your Skills & Experience For Post 18 Applications With Amy Blenkiron From The University of Sheffield
27th June 2022 @ 12:45 - 13:30
Year 12 and level 3 year 1 students are invited to join this session by The University of Sheffield looking ahead into next year – how you can plan ahead to give you ‘the edge’ in university applications.
We’ll cover the entry requirements you need for a range of courses, how to recognise what you can offer and demonstrate this confidently to admissions tutors, plus you’ll learn more about the employability opportunities and support on offer at university to help you succeed as a graduate.
The session will be led by Amy Blenkiron who is a Careers Consultant with the Careers Service at The University of Sheffield.
Our events are designed so that a group of students can take part from a classroom or students and teachers can take part as individuals, either from school or from home. This means that sessions will continue irrespective of possible school closures.
As a live, participative event, this session will not be recorded but slides and other resources will be shared after the event, where available.
Suitable for: All Year 12 and level 3 year 1 students.
Preparation/Pre-Reading: There is no preparation required although students may wish to consider questions they have about developing skills and what universities look for in applications.
The IT Setup: The event will be run on Bluejeans and participants will be able to join using laptops, tablets, and mobile devices. If you are joining as a school group, we recommend connecting with one device and projecting on to a whiteboard. You will be able to interact with the university via a microphone and/or typed comments and questions. Full details will be sent to those who have registered (see below) prior to the event.
Booking a Place: This is free for schools and colleges. If you would like to take part in this event, please register your interest using the link to the registration form below:
