HE Choices: Student Life at the University of Winchester with Ruth Walton and Student Ambassadors from The University of Winchester

This ‘Student Life’ interactive webinar will be delivered by current Student Ambassadors who are experiencing all aspects of university life. Having studied at university for over a year, each student will be able to reflect on their experiences and what it’s like to study at degree level.
This presentation will provide your students with a great introduction to an example of a typical UK university. For example, courses available, student support, facilities and resources, sports and societies and, of course, student nightlife too!
Students will benefit from this presentation in various ways. To excite and inspire, to build confidence and reassure or to inform and encourage. Either way, this presentation is highly recommended for students who already know they want to study at university and those who are still considering their options.
The format is a non-interactive 20 minute presentation for your students to listen to and take notes if required, followed by an informal question and answer session with Student Ambassadors.
The same presentation will be delivered twice:
- 11.20am – 12.05pm
- 12.30pm – 1.15pm
Suitable for: All Year 12 students, whether or not they have decided on studying for a university degree qualification. Hearing from current university students at the University of Winchester may encourage them to consider higher education.
Preparation or Pre-Reading: We recommend that students prepare in advance some questions to ask our Student Ambassadors.
The IT Setup: The setup is similar to Skype, using a pc and webcam, although students take part as a group with the image projected on a whiteboard rather than as individuals in front of lots of pcs. We will work with your IT department to ensure everything is set up and working prior to the event. The sessions are generally limited to 3 or 4 schools to maintain the interactive nature of the experience.
