HE Choices: Preparing for a UCAS Exhibition with Ruth Walton from The University of Winchester
27th February 2017 @ 12:35 - 13:20
Attending a UCAS exhibition over the next few months? Your busy day will be inspiring, informative and fun, but it’s important to get it right.
This session will help you to make the most of your day, to plan ahead, to encourage you to speak to the right universities and to collect the right information. It’s important to use this opportunity to speak face-to-face with university representatives about the options that are available to you and be clear about the criteria which will help decide whether or not you should consider a particular university for one of your 5 UCAS choices.
Details for School Organisers:
Suitable for: All Year 12 students, particularly those due to attend, or thinking about attending, a UCAS event.
Preparation or Pre-Reading: We recommend that students prepare in advance some questions relating to their thoughts around their potential university application and how the UCAS event works and how it might help with their decision making.
The IT Setup: The setup is similar to Skype, using a pc and webcam, although students take part as a group with the image projected on a whiteboard rather than as individuals in front of lots of pcs. Dedicated videoconferencing equipment is also compatible if available to the school. We will work with your IT department to ensure everything is set up and working prior to the event. The sessions are generally limited to 3 or 4 schools to maintain the interactive nature of the experience.
Booking a Place: If you have a group that you would like to take part in this event, please contact us via email or via the contact form at the top right of this page, letting us know whether you would like to join the 27th February, 1st March, or the 3rd March session. We will book your place subject to availability.
After the Event: If students have any questions following the video conference, please encourage them to email Winchester.
