HE Choices: Interview Skills & Preparation with Ruth Walton from The University of Winchester
30th November 2016 @ 15:25 - 16:25
This session will discuss approaches to preparing for a university interview, looking at the variety of interview types that an applicant may encounter. Related to these, Ruth will explore relevant skills that can be practised and employed to give students their best chance of a successful interview.
Suitable for: All Year 12/13 students.
Preparation or Pre-Reading: We recommend that students prepare in advance some questions relating to their potential university application.
The IT Setup: The setup is similar to Skype, using a pc and webcam, although students take part as a group with the image projected on a whiteboard rather than as individuals in front of lots of pcs. Dedicated videoconferencing equipment is also compatible if available to the school. We will work with your IT department to ensure everything is set up and working prior to the event. This is a dedicated session but, generally, sessions are limited to 3 or 4 schools to maintain the interactive nature of the experience.
Booking a Place: This is a dedicated session following a request from a school for university input. If you are interested in arranging an HE guidance session to support your students, please view the following link: Request an HE Guidance Session
After the Event: If students have any questions following the video conference, please encourage them to email Winchester.
