Geography: Before, During & Beyond … Geography Led By Professor Mark Whitehead From Aberystwyth University
24th June 2021 @ 17:00 - 18:00
We are delighted to present the Before, During and Beyond … series from Aberystwyth University in which each event focuses on a particular subject area to introduce the decisions that need to be made before choosing a degree course, the study period itself and how University alumni have succeeded beyond studying the course.
Before, During & Beyond … Geography has the following objectives:
- To provide insight into the process of applying to study geography (and related degrees) at University.
- To explore what it is actually like to study geography at University (including topics, forms of teaching, and fieldwork opportunities).
- To consider career opportunities that a geography degree can open up.
The session will include talks from a University Admissions Tutor, a Professor of Geography, and a Geography graduate who has worked for Save the Children and Friends of the Earth.
This is a great chance for Year 11, 12 & 13 students (and equivalent) to hear about how to prepare to study undergraduate courses, the graduates’ university experience, and how this has prepared them for their current roles.
There will be lots of opportunities to ask questions and to find out about the decisions the university alumni have made also.
The format is accessible, friendly, informative and participative.
