7th March 2022 @ 15:35 - 16:20

Exploring how and why the famous title sequence designed by Saul Bass for Alfred Hitchcock’s film Vertigo became so legendary and influential through the following decades – see the sequence HERE

The best film title sequences project a symbolic foretaste of what is to come, and creative a receptive atmosphere to enable the movie to begin on a higher level of audience engagement, right from the first frame.

We will also look at the iconic offscreen marketing posters and graphics for Vertigo to give us the full style picture.

Join leading creative director Richard Morrison of title sequence company The Morrison Studio in this session chaired by feature film editor Mick Audsley.

Morrison Studio credits include The Electrical Life of Louis Wain, The Undoing, Batman and more.  BAFTA winning Film Editor Mick Audsley’s many credits include Murder on the Orient Express, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

The session will be introduced by Solent University Film and TV lecturers Trish Morris and Stuart Ray.
