DESCRIPTION:Register Here \n  \n \n  \nIn this session\, Dr Rebecca Westrup from the University of East Anglia will lead a skills and insight workshop for students who are at the beginning of their EPQ journey. The session will focus on sharing insights to help students to get started with: \n\nChoosing the project area and deciding on an artefact or research report;\nSetting a question\nand practicalities and pitfalls of undertaking research.\n\nBelow is a recording of the slides with Rebecca’s voiceover which can be used as a recap for students but also as a resource for those that were unable to join us in May for the live event: \n \n  \nLecturer Profile (Please Click): Dr Rebecca Westrup \n\n  \nOur events are designed so that a group of students can take part from a classroom or students and teachers can take part as individuals\, either from school or from home. This means that sessions will continue irrespective of possible school closures. \nAs a live\, participative event\, this session will not be recorded but slides and other resources will be shared after the event\, where available. \n  \nSuitable for: Year 12 & 13 students (and equivalent) starting out on an Extended Project Qualification. \nPreparation/Pre-Reading: Students may wish to consider the topic in advance\, with respect to challenges they may face or questions they have. \nThe IT Setup: The event will be run on Bluejeans (similar to Zoom) and participants will be able to join using laptops\, tablets\, and mobile devices. If you are joining as a school group\, we recommend connecting with one device and projecting on to a whiteboard. You will be able to interact with the university via a microphone and/or typed comments and questions.
