SUMMARY:Drama/English Literature: Shakespeare’s Measure for Measure: The World through Stage Design With Dr Kirstin Smith From University of East Anglia
DESCRIPTION:Register Here \n  \n \n  \n\nThis session focuses on the world of Measure for Measure and how it has been expressed through stage design.  \n\n\nYou’ll read and analyse short sections of the play to learn more about its themes. You’ll then compare past production designs and do a creative design task\, setting one of the scenes in a space. \n\n\nYou’ll gain an insight into how staging shapes the meaning of a play\, as well as a new angle on textual analysis. \n\n\nThis workshop is designed for A-Level students to undertake as part of a classroom exercise or as individuals. \n\nLecturer Profile (Please Click): Dr Kirstin Smith \n\n  \n\nOur events are designed so that a group of students can take part from a classroom or students and teachers can take part as individuals\, either from school or from home. This means that sessions will continue irrespective of possible school closures. \nAs a live\, participative event\, this session will not be recorded but slides and other resources will be shared after the event\, where available. \n  \nSuitable for: The session will be suitable for Key Stage 5 students\, and equivalent\, who may be interested in exploring Measure for Measure from either a Drama or English Literature perspective\, or both. \nPreparation/Pre-Reading: Students may wish to consider questions they have about Measure for Measure\, both in terms of the writing and the stage production. \nThe IT Setup: The event will be run on Bluejeans and participants will be able to join using laptops\, tablets\, and mobile devices. If you are joining as a school group\, we recommend connecting with one device and projecting on to a whiteboard. You will be able to interact with the university via a microphone and/or typed comments and questions.
