In this Digital Rights Law/Media event, we are joined by Dr Holly Hancock from the School of Law at University of East Anglia who will present What’s behind the headlines: media law in today’s digital society – the ethical and legal debates.

From the BBC’s editing of Donald Trump’s Capitol Hill speech to the Wagatha Christie trial, this interactive session will explore the boundaries of the law and ethics in the media, from what can be written or said, to how matters like a person’s privacy and reputation are protected.

Using current examples, we’ll explore whether regulation works, the behaviour of the press, and consider how technology and the digital era provide ever-changing challenges.
