Jaguar Land Rover is delighted to be able to talk to Year 13 students about their Degree Apprenticeship Scheme in these live interactive sessions.

Become an Apprentice at Jaguar Land Rover and you’ll learn from the best. You’ll work on projects that have a real impact on the company’s global success. You’ll also be rewarded as you develop your skills and start on the road to building an impressive career. The Degree Scheme runs for six years and is split into two business areas: Engineering and Finance (Accountancy).

This session focuses on the Engineering pathway which is appropriate for those who have completed A-Levels or a BTEC Level 3 in an Engineering or Technology related subject. Including the 5 GCSE’s at C grade or above, including English, Maths and Science, applicants will need to have, or expect to have by 1st September 2016, 2 A Levels in Mathematical subjects (JLR can accept Physics interchangeably with Maths) or a combination of a Mathematical and natural (core) Science/Technology/Engineering subject.

In lieu of A Levels JLR may accept BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma (180 credits) in a related Technology or Engineering based subject (with a merit in the Maths module).

Apprentices work towards a fully sponsored BEng degree in Applied Engineering from The University of Warwick.

JLR will use these sessions to introduce the programme and to answer questions in a relaxed and informal way. Each session will typically involve three schools/colleges and would be led by current JLR apprentices talking about their career path and experiences. They are fully interactive so your students would be able to ask questions and share their own thoughts.

Suitable for: Schools & Colleges nationally

The sessions would be relevant for Year 13 students with a STEM leaning. JLR has also asked if each school/college taking part can aim to have a minimum of 10 students participating. The maximum depends on the room and technology you are using. If you have lower numbers, Year 12s would also be welcome. Parents would be very welcome if you feel this is appropriate and have the space.

Preparation/Pre-reading: Details of the Degree Apprenticeship Scheme will be made available to students in advance of the session. It will be helpful for students to consider questions in advance.
