DESCRIPTION:Register Here \n  \n \n  \nIn this session\, Dr Emily Setty\, Lecturer in Criminology at University of Surrey\, will focus on the interface between Crime\, Criminal Justice\, and Technology. \nThis is a key area of criminology and raises several issues that can be critically explored from a criminological perspective. \nThe aim of the session is to: \n\noutline the ways in which technology is being used within criminal justice\, specifically as pertains forensic evidence across the investigation and prosecution stages of the process (looking at finger printing and DNA as examples);\nengender critical engagement with the ways in which forensic evidence is used\, looking specifically at issues of reliability and the potential both for overturning and creating miscarriages of justice;\nconsider how criminology as a discipline can aid in establishing the role that technology should take within criminal justice as pertains forensic evidence.\n\n  \n\n  \nOur events are designed so that a group of students can take part from a classroom or students and teachers can take part as individuals\, either from school or from home.
