Computing/Data Science: Predictive Analysis with Python – Unleashing the Power of Machine Learning In The Healthcare Sector With Dr Drishty Sobnath From Solent University
11th May 2023 @ 14:15 - 15:00
In this Computing/Data Science session, Dr Drishty Sobnath, a leading university academic in the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Solent University, will run an interactive talk for students on Predictive Analysis with Python – Unleashing the Power of Machine Learning In The Healthcare Sector.
Predictive analysis is a powerful tool that can unlock insights and improve decision-making in a range of industries, including healthcare. In recent years, Python has become one of the most popular programming languages for predictive analysis, thanks to its flexibility, ease of use, and powerful libraries for machine learning. With Python, healthcare professionals can build models that can predict disease outcomes, identify at-risk patients, and optimize treatment plans. By leveraging the power of machine learning, healthcare providers can improve patient outcomes, reduce costs, and streamline their operations. As the healthcare sector continues to embrace new technologies, the role of predictive analysis is likely to become even more important, and Python is poised to be a key tool in this space.
In this session, we will explore how predictive analysis can be used in the healthcare sector to analyse large datasets of patient records, identify trends, and make predictions about future health outcomes.
The session will develop thinking, skills and approaches to support students in their Computing/Data Science studies and future aspirations.
Lecturer Profile (Please Click): Dr Drishty Sobnath
Our events are designed so that a group of students can take part from a classroom or students and teachers can take part as individuals, either from school or from home. This means that sessions will continue irrespective of possible school closures.
As a live, participative event, this session will not be recorded but slides and other resources will be shared after the event, where available.
Suitable for: Year 12 & 13 students (and equivalent) studying, or with a possible interest in studying, Computing/Data Science and related disciplines. Student groups as well as students and teachers joining individually are very welcome.
Preparation/Pre-Reading: Students may wish to consider the topic in advance and questions they have. Students can also think about questions about studying Computing/Data Science at university level.
The IT Setup: The event will be run on Bluejeans (similar to Zoom) and participants will be able to join using laptops, tablets, and mobile devices. If you are joining as a school group, we recommend connecting with one device and projecting on to a whiteboard. You will be able to interact with the university via a microphone and/or typed comments and questions. Full details will be sent to those who have registered (see below) prior to the event.
Booking a Place: This is free for schools and colleges. If you would like to take part in this event, please register your interest using the link to the registration form below:
