Let’s look at a cyber attack scenario that involves money loss and highlights the incident reporting process. In this interactive workshop, you will assess and respond to information about a potential data breach, navigating a variety of aspects that a cyber security officer manages in an organisation.

The scenario will introduce the complex circumstances cyber security officers regularly find themselves in, and the processes they need to follow, which are recommended by the international standards bodies. Rizwan will step through the scenario with you and explore what your responsibilities are.

Helen will then put the exercise into context of how this scenario is one aspect of security and how a Computer Science degree contains more opportunities to explore cyber security and how having skills to respond to incidents prepares undergraduates for rewarding careers in cyber security.

We invite you to participate in the dialogue as the data breach unfolds or simply observe, with an opportunity at the end to ask any questions about cyber security in computer science courses.
