Chemistry: A Skills & Insight University Masterclass – Computational Chemistry With Dr Vasily Oganesyan From University of East Anglia

4th November 2021 @ 12:45 - 13:30

In this session, Dr Vasily Oganesyan from the School of Chemistry at University of East Anglia will lead a skills and insight masterclass for students exploring the exciting and expanding field of Computational Chemistry.

The session will outline the basic principles behind Computational Chemistry and the role that computer modelling plays in modern Chemical research. It will be illustrated by topical examples demonstrating predictive powers of Computational Chemistry and how it greatly complements the work of experimentalists in understanding molecular properties and chemical phenomena. The role of Computational Chemistry in university curriculum will also be discussed.

Our events are designed so that a group of students can take part from a classroom or students and teachers can take part as individuals, either from school or from home. This means that sessions will continue irrespective of possible school closures.

As a live, participative event, this session will not be recorded but slides and other resources will be shared after the event, where available.
