In this Business/Accounting session, James Armes, Associate Professor in Accounting in the Norwich Business School at UEA, will run an interactive scenario based workshop for students on Assessing Investment Opportunities. The session will introduce the complexity of managing the scenario and lead students through a decision making process.

Before James transitioned into teaching, he worked as a Project Accountant for Lotus Cars where his job was to assess the investment opportunities presented by the car industry.

Bidding for projects is a complicated matter that requires a deep understanding of the costs of the business and the capabilities of the staff.

This session will explore some of the techniques used by accountants to advise senior management on investment decisions by using a case study approach that the audience can get involved in as decision makers.
