Biology/Biomedical Science/Molecular Biology: Biosciences – A Student Perspective From The University Of Sheffield
December 10 @ 12:30 - 13:15
In this live, interactive webinar, three students studying different biosciences degrees share their experiences and highlights of their courses.
The session will begin with a short introduction before the three students talk about their experiences from across Zoology, Molecular Biology and Biomedical Science courses, including their favourite modules, interesting lab session, projects and field trips.
At the end of the session, there will be an opportunity for schools to ask current students questions about their degrees, and more broadly about student life.
Suitable for: The session is primarily for Year 12 students considering studying a biology related subject although Year 13s that are still deciding would also be very welcome.
Preparation/Pre-Reading: Students may wish to think about their own interests within Biology and consider questions that would help them to think about whether Biosciences is right for them.
The IT Setup: The setup is similar to Skype, using a pc and webcam, although students take part as a group with the image projected on a whiteboard rather than as individuals in front of lots of pcs. Dedicated videoconferencing equipment is also compatible if available to the school. Further details are here: Connecting in to a Channel Talent Event (Please Click)
We will work with your IT department to ensure everything is set up and working prior to the event. The sessions are generally limited to 3 to 5 schools to maintain the interactive nature of the experience.
Booking a Place: This is free for schools and colleges. If you have a group of students that you would like to take part in this event, please click here
Subject to availability we will book a place for you.
