DESCRIPTION: \n  \nArts management can be defined as a toolbox one needs to support creativity. In setting up arts events\, an understanding of the creative process is required as well as an appreciation of the way creative individuals and groups function and feel. \nAt the same time\, you need to understand what is going on in the wider arts/creative communities\, and at the end\, connect all that with the ‘real world’ – money\, space\, media… and any other resource needed to make the art/creativity connect with the right audience. \nEvents management is one aspect of arts management\, and we will be discussing the contents of a toolbox one needs to be able to support an artist to create a successful event. \nDuring the session\, Aleksandar will encourage students to discuss their impression of two Kanye West events\, exploring their feelings while they were watching\, awareness of the wider context and connections with other art work and music. He will relate this back to the demands and practice of arts event management. \n  \nLecturer Biography: Dr Aleksandar Brkić \nSuitable for: Year 12s and Year 13s with a potential interest in studying Arts / Event Management. \nPreparation/Pre-Reading: To prepare for the webinar\, all the students should watch and consider two videos (Please click below): \nKanye West live performance of ‘All Day’ at BRIT Awards 2015 \nAdidas Originals x Kanye West / YEEZY Season 1 \nThe IT Setup: The setup is similar to Skype\, using a pc and webcam\, although students take part as a group with the image projected on a whiteboard rather than as individuals in front of lots of pcs. Dedicated videoconferencing equipment is also compatible if available to the school. We will work with your IT department to ensure everything is set up and working prior to the event. The sessions are generally limited to 3 or 4 schools to maintain the interactive nature of the experience. \nBooking a Place: If you have a group of students that you would like to take part in this event\, please contact us via email or via the contact form at the top right of this webpage (or at the bottom if you are on a mobile device).
