Architecture: Architecture as an Education and Career with Simon Chadwick from The University of Sheffield

19th April 2017 @ 09:00 - 09:45

In this session for Year 12s, Simon Chadwick, the undergraduate course leader from the Sheffield School of Architecture will guide you through architecture as an education and career.

In an interactive webinar you can find out about architecture courses available, how you can become an architect and also hints and tips on successfully applying for this competitive course.

We will also introduce the Sheffield School of Architecture, one of the leading Schools in the UK, widely known for its distinct approach to architectural education.

Suitable for: This lecture would be appropriate for Year 12 students potentially interested in studying architecture.

Lecturer Biography (Please click): Simon Chadwick

Preparation or Pre-Reading: There is no specific preparation or pre-reading but we recommend that students consider some questions in advance relevant to the subject matter and their particular interests in further study of architecture.

The IT Setup: The setup is similar to Skype, using a pc and webcam, although students take part as a group with the image projected on a whiteboard rather than as individuals in front of lots of pcs. Dedicated videoconferencing equipment is also compatible if available to the school. We will work with your IT department to ensure everything is set up and working prior to the event. The sessions are generally limited to 2 or 3 schools to maintain the interactive nature of the experience.

Booking a Place: If you have a group of students that you would like to take part in this event, please contact us via email or via the contact form at the top right of this webpage. Subject to availability we will book a place for you.
