School/College Webinar Request Scheme – University Page
About The Scheme
The webinar request scheme enables schools and colleges to submit requests for input from one or more universities. The request may, for example, seek university input as part of a wider HE/Careers event that a school/college is running, adding variety to the event and often widening its geographical reach. Alternatively it may be a one off event that curriculum leaders in the school feel would support their teaching in a particular area whilst giving a valuable insight into university study.
Below are the main options available although they may combine depending upon the school’s requirements:
- A Guidance Talk – This may be a talk on personal statements, student finance, student life, etc.
- A Taster Lecture – A subject based talk to give students an insight into a subject area and the associated learning experience at university
- Curriculum Support Talk – An external voice on a subject being covered in the classroom
- Online Stand/Helpdesk for HE/Careers Day – Students can connect and have a conversation with a relevant person (probably at their desk/pc) at a uni
Please see below the list of live requests and details of the costs. Please click on the ‘Available’ icon to go to the school website.
Bedford School would like to arrange a series of webinars running on Monday lunchtimes (13.00-13.45) to hear from 'Top 30' university admissions tutors before mid November.
This would involve separate sessions for different 'faculties' (e.g. Sciences, Social Sciences, Arts & Humanities, Engineering/Maths, Medicine/Health) in which an admissions tutor discusses what the university is looking for from their applicants.
Hearing from a range of universities would be ideal although universities can opt to cover more than one. Each session would be charged at £95 +VAT or a third of a session within a Channel Talent subscription.
This page will be updated with faculties and dates that universities have committed to so that everyone is clear what is still available.
Please use the contact form on this page to indicate interest or ask questions, including Bedford School in the subject.
UPDATE: The school would still be interested in contributions from Law and Engineering.
ICHS has asked for a webinar which offers a taster lecture giving an insight into university study and research but which also may connect to some elements that students would be studying at A Level. There are roughly 15 sixth form students that would be involved and this may well appeal to universities that are trying to encourage more males to apply for Psychology. As a single school session, it would be charged at £95 +VAT or a third of a session within a Channel Talent subscription. However, we can also discuss opening this up to more schools to become a 'full' session if preferred.
ICHS is flexible about dates/times in October/November provided it is on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday and finishes before 3.15.

Beverley Grammar has requested a series of age/stage appropriate webinars for its year groups from Year 10 through to Year 13 which provide a greater understanding of the opportunities and variety of courses at university and the careers they potentially lead to, plus the skills required.
The school has approximately 130 students in each year group and would like to run the Year 10, 11 & 13 sessions (one per year group) this Autumn followed by Year 12 in the Spring term. Exact timings can be agreed following an expression of interest in running one or more of these sessions. As single school sessions, these would each be charged at £95 +VAT or a third of a session within a Channel Talent subscription.

The school has 2 students applying for Medicine this year that they are conscious they are unable to give as much support to as they would like.
This webinar would be a conversation with the students led by someone who is able to talk about studying Medicine, requirements and applications. There is no charge to the university.
