An Introduction to Studying Veterinary Science (at Wales’ First Veterinary School – Aberystwyth University)

This interactive online event, led by Professor Darrell Abernethy, Head & Chair of Aberystwyth School of Veterinary Science, will introduce students to the work of a veterinary surgeon and provide advice on applying to study.

The presentation will include the following sections:

  • What do Vets do?
  • What does it take to become a Vet?
  • How do I improve my chances of succeeding in application?
  • Why Aberystwyth University?

The format will be a presentation addressing these questions with the opportunity for questions and dialogue between each section and at the end.

Suitable for: Year 11 and 12 Seren Students in Wales.

Preparation/Pre-Reading: None is required although you may wish to consider questions you have about studying Veterinary Science at university.

The IT Setup: The event will be run on Bluejeans and participants will be able to join using laptops, tablets, and mobile devices. You will be able to interact with the university via microphones and/or typed comments and questions. Full details will be sent to those who have registered (see below) prior to the event.
